Dec 18 2011 Los Californios

The Los Californios Motorcycle Club has stopped and eaten at my wife's restaurant many times. These guys look like they are livin' large. What could be better than cruising the loop on a beautiful day in Baja California Sur with a nice bike and good friends? Not much in my estimation. Last Sunday they stopped for lunch and I went out to chat with them a bit. Fortunately many of them have great English so I don't have to embarrass myself with my below average Español! Yuri Lugo and I traded info and he emailed me the link to their site. Click here to see a slideshow from their ride.

Feb 25 2012 Jess Clemons Concert

If you have plans for Saturday evening, cancel them!
Come over the the Roadrunner Cafe instead and see Jess Clemons. She's played a couple times at our Wednesday open mike and will try to get down this Wed. (Feb 21) also.

Jess has written some great tunes and performs them flawlessly. Her voice is her best instrument but she compliments herself beautifully with both guitar and piano .

I know many of you will be at the Trinidad show Friday night to rock out with "Los Viejos and La Señorita Michelle". Saturday night will be the perfect follow up. We'll sit back and have a nice relaxing evening with Jess. Click this link to read more about Jess and her accomplishments.
We will serve dinner at 6PM, Jess will start playing at 7. Happy hour from 4 to 7. Call 124-8038  for reservations.

February 22 2012 Open Mic

This is Gavin Goodrich playing. He is 12 years old.

As you know, part of our restaurant's reputation centers around music. We've had many guest performers on Sundays and various evenings and we do the open mic every wednesday night during the "season." I'm a musician and I can't cook. So I especially enjoy the open mic.

Last Wednesday was especially entertaining. Not only did we have country AND western, we had bluegrass. We had jazz. We had nice contemporary original music by Jess Clemons. We had classical piano. We had oldies. We had 60's. WE HAD REGGAE. No kidding real, good reggae. Ok that's it right?? Look I'm not overstating how good of a night of music this was. If you weren't there, ask somebody who was. But wait, there's MORE. We had an honest to goodness OPERA piece. And it was unbelievable. Laura who never leaves us thinking, "oh I've heard THAT song a hundred times" sang an opera piece that I don't know the name of but trust me when I tell you that it was really good.

If you like good, reasonably priced meals and/or live music, join us on Wednesday evenings. Make a reservation; if you come late you may have to stand in the parking lot.
For reservations: 124-8038

March 21 2012 Open Mic: Roadrunner Cafe

What a nice evening of music. We had several first time guests last night along with many of our regulars. The crowd favorite had to be miss Anjali Pope, daughter of Tiffanie and Troy. Little Miss Anjali who is a personal friend of mine sang my favorite campfire song, "Old Susanna." She was accompanied by her mom. Not seen but heard playing the ukulele is Happy. Here's the video. Enjoy.
